Top ten items of bedding for kids
It is common thinking that Bedding items such as quilts, duvets and comforters are the same thing. The fact is, there as a many diferences as similarities with these items and others.
Hopefully, these definitions will clear up any confusion.
COMFORTER ? A comforter is a blanket that keeps us comfortable and warm during sleep. It is usually filled with wool, feathers, polyester or any combination of these stuffings.
A comforter should be
large enough to cover the bed well. This is will prevent slippage if
the sheets are slick.
A comforter?s main purpose is to keep us warm and cozy during sleep in colder times. They are also commonly used as mattress padding during the daytime.
DUVET ? is a warm bed covering that is used in place of a comforter or quilt. It is a bag that is usually filled with down, or other natural or synthetic materials. This filling is usually removable.
A duvet can be considered a comforter. It serves the same purpose as a comforter. The difference with a duvet and comforter is the ?duvet cover.? A ?duvet? is not meant to be washed.
Washing could damage the delicate filling that makes it warm and breatheable. This is where the ?duvet cover? comes in.
DUVET COVER ? this is the bag that keeps the duvet clean. A duvet cover usually comes with a zipper or buttons.
This allows it to be removed and washed. In some countries a duvet and a comforter are considered one and the same. However, in the U.S. they are not viewed that way.
A duvet is usually referred to as a duvet cover in the U.S. which makes it a bit confusing if you consider that a duvet really is a comforter with a cover. A duvet is not decorative, but the cover is.
This makes it easy to change to look of your bed by reusing the same filling with different covers.
QUILTS ? A bed quilt is a blend of fabrics that serve as decorative covers for a bed. Many quilts are made with fanciful patterns. Some with elaborately embrodered decorations.
Quilts usually have detailed stitches (normally 10 stiches per inch). They are created with three layers of fabric; a quilted top, a batting and fabric for a backing. A quilt is not to be confused with a comforter.
While comforters and duvets serve the keeping you warm at nights. quilts are purely decorative bedding.
COVERLET - A coverlet is a lightweight bedspread, it is often used as throw for beds sofas. It can be either woven or quilted. Woven coverlets are made from materials with a rough, itchy texture.
Quilted coverlets are created using quilted patterns with a thin layer of batting between the quilted top and backing.
As in the case of woven coverlets, quilted coverlets are also very thin. They are only made for decoration. They do not provide much insulation.
A very good way to use a coverlet is to spread it neatly on top of a complimentary sheet set and bed skirt.
SHEET SET- A sheet set is a package of matching bed sheets that includes a flat sheet also called a top sheet, a fitted sheet also called bottom sheet, and pillowcase(s).
Sheets sets offer bedding in a simple package for the convenience of not having to purchase individual basic bedding items.
Some common fabrics used to make sheet sets are cotton, flanel or polyester blends. Preference for certain type of fibers plays a large role in some people choice of sheet sets.
Light cotton sheets are considered for warmer climates, while flanel in cold weather because it is warm and insulating.
BED SKIRT - Also know as dust skirt or dust ruffle. A bed skirt is a piece fabric to which a skirt is attached. It?s a decorative accessory whose main purpose is to give the bed a stylish look, by covering exposed sides of box springs.

Huggers are not well known or very popular but are very useful for children.
Huggers makes is easy for little children to make thier beds. Especially the four corner huggers.
Huggers can be considered as a well kept secrect in kids bedding.
